“How do I prepare for my session?”
Tip # 1 - Limbs touching
For the entire session - Have as many limbs touching as possible. This allows me to capture authentic connection....
- squishy cuddles
- sweet kisses
- comforting gestures
- sneaky tickles
Tip # 2 - Follow their lead
The best way to get good shots is to follow your child/ren’s lead and get down to their level. Play, laugh & love.
- If they want to go and pick flowers, join them!
- If they want to jump off rocks (safely), let them!
- If they want to be cuddled by Mum, cuddle them back!
There are no scripts or rules!
Tip # 3 - Outfits matter
Earthy, neutral clothing are great ways of creating timeless images. Avoid busy patterns, distracting logos and identical clothing. Think about your session and what would be comfortable.
Tip # 4 - Don't look at the camera
There will be moments I will ask you to look at the camera for a few ‘traditional’ photos but the magic in the session is when I capture you looking at your loved ones. Those natural smiles, special giggles and even occasional frown! Let me capture you being YOU! Tears are not a bad thing, these prompt sweet kisses and squishy cuddles! The best photos! The more you look at each other the more emotive your images will be.
Tip # 5 - Enjoy it
Think of it as a completely unplugged moment where you can spend quality time with your favourites. This is a time for you to enjoy being embraced and wrapped up in each others love. Let me worry about the rest.
